FAQ - questions?
A Step Ahead's School Program FAQs!!

How many students can be taught at once?

Answer:  We can accommodate up to 150 students at one time for certain units with teacher supervision.  By law the A Step Ahead instructor should not have more than 30 students at one time alone.  Pam Shinsato is a certified school teacher, so she CAN be left alone with the students.  However, that is not advised at all!  Each unit can have from 1-3 classes of students which equates to up to 100 students with teacher supervision. Again, some units work better with fewer classes.
How long is the suggested duration of the program?

Answer:  We charge per day and half day so you can hire us for as long as desired.  However, for the students to better succeed with the entire curriculum we suggest a full week.  We have 8 lessons, which build on each other, sectioned into 4 sessions.  As with any curriculum, that can be adjusted.  However, the curriculum fulfills standards and scaffold from one to the other so we advise the entire week, at least.

What is the Cost?

Answer:  We charge per day and half day.  So, if you hired A Step Ahead for the entire week and had 500 students, it would come up to $2-$3 per student for 4 dance days' lessons!  You don't need to be a math whiz to know that is a great deal!  This also doesn't include the future enjoyment of dance for the students and teachers!!

Can I teach this too?

Answer:  Yes, we are franchising/certifying as we speak!  Contact us and we'll get you started on this fun and lucrative career!!

DANCE PULSE Exercise FAQs!!

Do I have to have dance experience?

Answer:  Of course not!!  This is not an audition!!  You are dancing for fun and health and no one in the class will judge you.  The only corrections the instructor will make is safety concerns.  As long as you know how to smile and have fun you'll do great in this exercise class.  Be prepared to learn routines though and be okay that you will learn them over a few week's time!  This is what will make you feel like that dancer on some "stage" of your choice!

What do I bring to class?

Answer:  Inhibitions stay at home, please!! :)  Or you will learn that along the way!  Bring a towel to lay on, sneakers, water and comfortable workout clothes.  You might want to bring a friend, too...not necessary because you'll make new friends but still fun with someone you know.

Are the routines hard to learn?

Answer:  They are not hard to learn because there is a lot of repetition, the routines are choreographed to the format of the music and we do the same routines every session but change on out every session (and mix up the order still formatting a good workout plan).  Students have learned the routines by the second or third class. It also depends on your desire to have fun and some experience with music.  You can do it!

Can I keep having fun with Dance Pulse over a long period of time?

Answer:  Dance Pulse is PERFECT for your long-term goals because our bodies will get used to a certain routine.  That is why Dance Pulse classes offer different routines (one changed out per month), different sculpt and tone sections and cool downs sections for each class!

Can I get in on the fun too by becoming a teacher?

Answer:  Yes, we have a very lucrative and competent Certified Dance Pulse Instructor (CDPI) program!  Contact us and we'll tell you how to get started making a difference through dance!!
